Date set for our 20th Birthday Bash

Emmaus Mossley community members

Emmaus Mossley will hold a day-long community event in September to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

The ‘20th Birthday Bash’ will take place on Saturday 16 September and mark 20 years since the opening of the Emmaus Mossley community building at Longlands Mill. Over the years the community has grown and it is now home to 26 companions – formerly homeless people who live and work at Emmaus Mossley.

The event will include special guests, live music, DJs, food stalls, vintage sale, raffle, charity auction and much more throughout the day. One of the special guests attending will be Terry Waite CBE, President of Emmaus UK.

“I am very much looking forward to visiting Emmaus Mossley again, a community with which I have very fond memories of since its early beginnings in 1997. Their twentieth anniversary event in September will be a great celebration for all the community to enjoy and I look forward to meeting old friends and supporters of Emmaus.”

Emmaus Mossley’s ’20th Birthday Bash’ will take place on Saturday 16 September, 10am until 4pm, at Emmaus Mossley, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley OL5 9AH. The event aims to be the biggest in the charity’s history, with a programme of music and activities that will appeal to all ages.

“Our community is looking forward to celebrating this significant landmark at Emmaus Mossley. We have some fantastic entertainment lined up including special guests, local musicians and lots of activities for kids to enjoy. As the event draws near we will be announcing more details so do keep an eye on our website and social media feeds.”
