We are really looking forward to welcoming back all of our customers and supporters to Emmaus Mossley. Before you visit us, please read on to find out about our reopening plans and the safety measures we will have in place.
Firstly, we kindly ask that if you are feeling unwell in any way, please do not visit Emmaus Mossley. Our priority is always the health and wellbeing of our companions, volunteers, trustees, staff, supporters and the local community. To ensure the safety of our team and all visitors, we have completed a risk assessment for safe reopening and put in place measures to minimise the risk of virus transmission.
Our Secondhand Superstore, Collectables Room and Scrap Shed will reopen, as will Lucie’s Café for take-away only.
The spaces in our on-site car park will continue to be reserved for disabled badge holders and for those dropping off or collecting items. If you are visiting us by car or have dropped off items and wish to visit our store, please park at the bottom of Queen Street, on Manchester Road or use the public car-park behind the shops on Manchester Road.
To ensure that physical distancing rules are maintained, we will be monitoring visitor numbers and limiting the amount of people in store at any one time. You may be required to queue prior to entry. It is mandatory to wear face masks in all shops so please remember to bring a face mask and wear it at all times when you visit us.
We ask that all visitors sanitise their hands on entry at our sanitiser stations. Please follow the directional arrows around the store and ensure that you maintain at least a two metre distance from others at all times. If you are visiting as a family, please stick together closely and ensure that children stay with adults at all times. When purchasing items, use one of the till points with the perspex safety screens. We encourage you to pay by card and use contactless payments where possible.
We will start accepting shop donations again but prior to donating items, please read our ‘donate goods’ page and check which items we can and cannot accept. Please only donate items to our charity when our Superstore is open and at the designated drop-off point.
We will resume collections of larger furniture items but please note we already have a backlog of requests. If you are able to arrange a drop-off of your donated items, it will greatly help our charity and reduce the pressure on our collection team.
For the first time in over a year, we are please to announce that Lucie’s Café is also reopening for a take-away service, serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and light refreshments. Due to the ongoing restrictions, food and drinks can only be consumed at our outside seating area or off-premises.
We will continue to follow the latest advice and guidance from government, our local authority and the Charity Retail Association. Keep checking our website and social media pages for the latest information and any changes to our operations. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcoming supporters back to our Secondhand Superstore will bring our companions valued social interaction as well as much needed income for our charity. Thank you for your understanding and continued support throughout this past year.
The majority of the funds we need to survive are generated through our social enterprise. The national lockdowns and temporary enforced closures of the Emmaus Mossley Secondhand Superstore has greatly reduced our charity’s income. We know it’s tough for everyone at the moment but any gift you can spare will help us recover from a very difficult 12 months.
