Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our coffee morning fundraiser, in memory of our friend and colleague Heather.

On Friday 29 September, Emmaus Mossley hosted Heather’s Macmillan Coffee Morning, a solidarity fundraiser in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Attendees enjoyed a wide range of cakes and sweet treats, with cake sales and all takings from Lucie’s Café totaling £983.70, all of which were donated to Macmillan.

As well as cakes, Lucie’s Café served carrot and coriander soup and specials including New York deli rolls and Bombay baked potato. We would like to thank everyone who attended and give extra special thanks to all the kind people who baked, created and donated a delicious assortment of cakes, cupcakes, scones and tray bakes.

Heather’s Macmillan Coffee Morning was held in memory of Heather, a much-loved colleague and friend of our community. She was an integral part of our team, the birthday coordinator and loved to bake cakes. Heather was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and sadly passed away later that year, so this is a special event for our community.

Macmillan Coffee Morning, an annual UK-wide event, is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer. It helps to fund Macmillan nurses, answer calls on their Support Line, give financial support, and much more.
