Emmaus North Staffs is urgently seeking new volunteers to help run our two charity shops in Hanley.

Volunteering in a charity shop can be an incredibly rewarding experience:

“Everyone’s very welcoming and friendly. I love that I now have a purpose each week. That is so important; people sometimes don’t realise how important it is. I wake up and know that I’m off out. I would definitely recommend volunteering to other people, especially if they live on their own and want to meet others. I just love coming here. I enjoy it and I’ll do whatever I can to help” – Marian, Emmaus volunteer (pictured).

Join our friendly team, meet new people and do some good.

The welcoming faces of our Retail Assistant volunteers are the first port of call for our customers visiting our two Emmaus shops and are there to answer any questions, sort stock & keep the space to a high professional standard. We’ll give you full training, so if you think you might have a flair for creating shop floor displays or helping customers, this role might be for you.

You’ll get a 50% Volunteer Discount at our Emmaus Shop in the Potteries Centre and our Furniture & Home Charity Warehouse, lunch is provided (sandwich, crisps & drink) and bus fares are reimbursed.

Could you spare a few hours?

Our shops are open Monday – Saturday, 9am-5pm. We ask our Retail Assistants to kindly volunteer at least once a week.

No experience is necessary, as training will be provided, but volunteers must be friendly, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

As a volunteer, you’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, including sorting donations, pricing items, assisting customers, and keeping the shop clean and organized.

By volunteering with Emmaus North Staffs, you’ll be helping to support our mission to tackle poverty in the local area.

If you’re interested in volunteering with Emmaus North Staffs, please get in touch. Your support could make a huge difference to the lives of those in need.
