Our volunteers
We have many roles for our amazing volunteers who we could not function without. Through our National Lottery funded role, we have a Volunteer Support Worker who leads on the promotion of volunteer opportunities, their recruitment, supervision and management. Our Volunteer Support Worker also creates personal development plans for those volunteers who wish to have this support.

Our trustees
Original trustees: when we established the charity in early 2017, we had a local Chair (John Webbe who is now our Executive Lead), and four trustees from Emmaus Bolton. However, when John stepped down to become the charity’s manager, a replacement was found from Emmaus Bolton.
Emmaus trustees across the country (as there are 33 Emmaus charities in the UK) need to have a thorough understanding of what Emmaus is all about and visit other Emmaus communities before they become a local trustee.
Our current trustees are:
- Claire Sherlock (Chair): Claire is a doctor at Royal Stoke University Hospital and lecturer at Keele University Medical School
- John Farrar (Treasurer): John is Finance Director of North Staffs YMCA
- Tony Stephenson: Tony is Executive Lead at Emmaus Bolton
- George Almond DL: George is also a trustee of Emmaus Bolton
- Charles Harris: Charles is a private consultant with NHS England
- Paul McShane: Paul is Managing Director at Pipeline Induction Heat Ltd
- Alastair Beacon: Alistair is MD at consultancy business Westley Consulting Ltd
- Jayne Phillips: Jayne is a HR consultant
- Dean Horsfield-Marsh: Dean is Homelessness Support Manager at Concrete

We are always looking to develop our team of volunteers and introduce new trustees so contact us to find out more. We need a constant team of volunteers to help us run our shops, sort the incoming donations, help in the office and keep our fleet of vans on the road, delivering and collecting from across North Staffordshire.
