Our staff

We operate a small staff team at Emmaus North Staffs, several of whom have been with Furniture Mine for several years before Emmaus North Staffs acquired the enterprise.

  • John Webbe, Executive Lead
  • Alan Cox, Warehouse Manager
  • Paul Moffat, Shop Supervisor
  • Keziah Stott, Volunteer Development Coordinator (funded by The National Lottery)
  • Carl Evans, Driver
  • Martyn Barrett, Driver
  • (position vacant), Driver

Our volunteers

We have numerous roles for volunteers and it is not an exaggeration to say we cannot function without our amazing volunteers. Through our National Lottery funded role, we have a Volunteer Development Coordinator in post who leads on the promotion of volunteer opportunities, the recruitment, supervision & management of our volunteers, and establishing personal development plans for those volunteers who want the support.

Our trustees

Original trustees: when we established the charity in early 2017, we had a local chair (John Webbe) and 4 trustees from Emmaus Bolton. However, when John stepped down to become the charity’s manager, a replacement was found from Emmaus Bolton. Emmaus trustees across the country (as there are 34 Emmaus charities in the UK) need to have a thorough understanding of what Emmaus is all about and visit other Emmaus communities before they become a local trustee.

Our current trustees are:

  • Roger Speare, chair, retired, also chair of Emmaus Bolton and Emmaus South Manchester
  • Claire Hookey, deputy chair, medical doctor at Royal Stoke University Hospital
  • Tony Stephenson, treasurer, Executive Lead at Emmaus Bolton
  • George Almond DL, trustee of Emmaus Bolton
  • Tim Lucas, former project manager at Saltbox, taking a career break from Sept 2020 to return to full-time education at Staffs University
  • Charles Harris, private consultant with NHS England
  • John Farrar, treasurer, Finance Director of North Staffs YMCA

Join us

We are always looking to develop our team of volunteers and introduce new trustees so contact us to find out more. We need a constant team of volunteers to help us run the shop, run the warehouse, to sort the incoming donations, to help in the office, and to keep our fleet of vans on the road delivering and collecting from across North Staffordshire.
