House Clearances

By choosing Emmaus North Staffs to provide your house clearance service, you are helping people to help themselves out of homelessness and support the most vulnerable in our local North Staffs communities.

Through our clearance service we can take any reusable items from the home including furniture, kitchen items & crockery, ornaments, clothes, books, music & film, and many other things.

We offer two clearance services, as outlined below:

  • The Cherry Pick Clearance Service

This is a FREE 60-MINUTE service to remove all the reusable items we can. We will select and take away those good quality items for reuse & resale to support our charity. This service is perfect for when you’re happy to arrange the disposal of any remaining items yourself. Please note we will need all smaller items boxed or bagged ready to go as we will not have time to pack.

We will not take: items that we cannot remove within the 60-minute time slot, loose small items, recycling, waste, or items deemed to be of little resale value.  Resale need to be in good working order, comply with all relevant safety standards, and be free from defects, damage, rips, stains, scratches, etc.

  • The Full Property Clearance Service

This service is for us to remove all the non-fixed items in the house, garage, shed, loft and cellar for us to reuse, resell, or recycle.  This is a chargeable service based on the size of the job and the volume of items we determine cannot be reused which require disposal. Please get in touch to arrange a visit from one of the team to prepare a personalised quote. Payment is taken via card or cash at the time of booking. A VAT invoice can be provided on request.

For more details, call John on 07710 434 025 or email to [email protected]

For both services, all loose items (such as bric-a-brac, clothes, shoes, kitchen equipment, small electrical items, and so on) needs to be bagged or boxed for safe and efficient removal.

The service has the following restrictions on what we cannot take: garden waste; builders’ rubble; hazardous materials; gas bottles; sheds; carpets; other items identified when visiting the property to quote.

We strongly recommend leaving carpets, curtains, and blinds in place for property resale and for property security if it is to be left empty for any period of time.

All proceeds go to support the Emmaus North Staffs charity, a government-registered Waste Carrier.

Why Choose Emmaus North Staffs?

We are one of over 400 Emmaus charities across the world, all focused on supporting the most vulnerable people in the communities where each Emmaus is based.

With its’ roots in 1950s post-war Paris rehousing the street homeless, Emmaus remains a UK leader in helping many hundreds of people to escape the vicious cycle of homelessness.  We do this by creating homes for those who have been homeless, a home for as long as each person needs it, and alongside this each person living with Emmaus works full-time within the charity to the best of their abilities.

Emmaus believes work is a therapy to personal recovery, skills development, work experiences, and rebuilding their self-confidence to enable each person to move back into society as a positive member of the community.
