On Monday 19th September, we officially opened our new Carr Street Shop and Workshop.

We were joined by Mayor Cllr Lynne Mortimer who cut the ribbon on our biggest shop in Ipswich and welcomed our first customers inside.

We were blown away by the support from new and old customers and friends of the charity. This new enterprise was a big step for our charity, moving out of our Sailmakers Shopping Centre premises which we built up over several years, into a brand new (larger) site.

The new shop, located on 44 Carr Street was buzzing as we opened the doors, and customers and supporters piled in. The shop is packed full of pre-loved furniture, homeware, books, and clothing. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything you love about Emmaus Suffolk.

Our CEO Claire Staddon shared “It was amazing to see so many people supporting our new shop and hub space. We’re excited to see the site develop and we hope that it will bring life to this area of Ipswich. Be sure to come in and see us over the next few days and explore the site and learn about our wellbeing hubs.”

Our popular daily hubs will now be taking place at Carr Street, you can find our full timetable here. Our larger workshop can welcome more people to our hubs for craft, games, upcycling and a chat over a cuppa. For this launch, we were delighted to partner with Ipswich.Love and create a map of Ipswich for hub attendees to write love letters to the town on. This is an ongoing project so do pop in and take a look.

Our Carr Street Shop and Workshop is open Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 4.30 pm.
