"Hearing success stories from the huge range of people who benefit day in, day out, from the service Emmaus Suffolk offers, is hugely inspirational."
Lewis joined Emmaus Suffolk as a Companion after living at Emmaus Colchester for a few years. He's worked incredibly hard and now has a full-time job with Emmaus in our fab Home store!
"I know Emmaus is a successful model for addressing the needs of hard to help homeless people."
As an Ipswich resident, I was keen to support my community and share my knowledge and skillset to add value to Emmaus Suffolk's growth and future projects.
"I have been able to turn all of the things I have experienced into a positive and use them to help other people. It helps me to understand people who are in that space, offer them some inspiration that if I can come through that and live my life the way I am now, they can too."
Becoming a volunteer at Emmaus Suffolk has transformed my life. It has given me a sense of wellbeing; a sense of purpose. I no longer feel like I am just wasting away. There’s always someone there to talk to, I smile more now, and I properly laugh.
