This September, we’re opening a new shop and community space, in the centre of Ipswich!

Our new site on 44 Carr Street will have everything our customers love about Emmaus Suffolk in one 3,025ft store, including bargain furniture, homeware, and preloved clothes and accessories. We currently have five stores across Ipswich and Felixstowe and this autumn we will be relocating from our current two shops in Sailmakers Shopping Centre to Carr Street.

The community space will also host a range of our wellbeing hubs, where we welcome people to get involved in crafts, games and mindful activities to improve their mental health. We’ve seen a sharp increase in people attending our free hubs due to the cost-of-living crisis and this new space will allow us to increase our capacity and invite more people to connect with their local community.

Our CEO, Claire Staddon says “Ipswich has always welcomed our new initiatives and shops with open arms, and we hope that our new home on Carr Street will be no different. We’re really excited about this bigger space and to welcome shoppers to it in early autumn. We’ll be sad to leave our premises in Sailmakers Shopping Centre where we’ve been since 2017. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of Sailmakers and our customers for shopping with us there. This is an important time of growth for our charity, taking on this bigger shop will allow us to support more people that we know are in need in Ipswich.”

We’ll be officially opening on Monday 18th September where we’ll be inviting customers in for a special hub with Ipswich.Love to write love letters to Ipswich. Our new shop will also be stocked full of amazing second-hand finds for you to browse. Join us on the 18th September from 11am.

Keep an eye on our social media to see sneak peaks of the shop before we open!
