On 1st February, we celebrated the 7th Anniversary of our charity first opening at the Dales in 2016! To celebrate our birthday and 7 years of supporting vulnerable people in Suffolk, we have re-opened the tearoom at our Dales shop!

The tearoom closed during Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020 and we are delighted to be re-opening it due to popular demand! The tearooms will be open from 10 am – 3 pm from Wednesday 1st February and visitors can enjoy tea, and coffee as well as toasted tea cakes and muffins. Prices start from £2.50 for a cup of tea and cake. Customers can also browse the wide range of pre-loved clothes, furniture, and homeware in the retail space.

Since Emmaus got the keys to the former Dales pub, we have transformed it from a run-down space to a busy social enterprise and retail store, selling second-hand goods to support the charity’s work with vulnerable people.

In our 7 years we have achieved incredible things and we now have 6 shops, 1 amazing community cafe, 10 weekly well-being hubs and 2 supported accommodation houses.

Claire Staddon, Chief Executive of Emmaus Suffolk says “It’s been a wonderful 7 years at Emmaus, we have achieved so much. I am proud of the amazing team for everything they pour into the charity and all their enthusiasm. I hope that the next 7 years see us closer to ending homelessness and continuing to reduce the amount of deprivation in Suffolk.”

Supporters can join in the anniversary celebrations this week and visit the Dales tearoom from Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am – 3 pm.
