Join Emmaus Suffolk on Tuesday, 6th December for an inspiring and uplifting free event: ‘How to Begin Again’.

If you’re feeling stuck in life or you’re ready for a new beginning at college, work, or in your personal life, join us to feel inspired, learn new skills and meet people going through a similar experience.

Hosted at The Royal Oak, our How to Begin Again event is run in collaboration with health and social care organisation, Turning Point. Throughout the evening, you will have a chance to learn how to support yourself and others through periods of change and share your feelings about new beginnings.

We’re excited to be joined by performance artists, ‘Skinny Poet’ and ‘Davey B’ who will share their experiences on beginning again and perform spoken word and poetry.

The event will be held at our Royal Oak Community Café from 7 pm – 9 pm and free refreshments will be provided. The Royal Oak is a sober space for everybody and serves hot & cold soft drinks and alcohol-free beer from Big Drop Brewery. Emmaus Suffolk can cover the cost of your travel to this event up to the price of £4.70, register your contact details here and we will be in touch to arrange this. The Royal Oak has step-free access and an accessible toilet. Please contact us if you have any access questions and we will assist you.

‘How to Begin Again’ is part of a series of talks from our ‘Work it Out with Emmaus Suffolk‘ programme. The programme aims to empower people to find new skills, explore their interests and connect with the local community. Work it Out is not all about finding a job, it gives everyone a chance to find out what excites them and an opportunity to try out new activities.

Other successful events in the series have included a discussion and Q&A on ‘How to Get a Job you Love’ with local professionals Cad Taylor from The Hive and Edmund Ngai from LED Creatives. Coming up this Autumn from the Work it Out Programme is a range of creative workshops including discussions on thoughts & feelings and working for yourself.
