Emmaus Bristol has thanked us for the loan of one of our vans while they were awaiting delivery of a replacement vehicle.
Our Bristol colleagues got in touch in January 2023 to see if we had a spare van to loan them while they organised a replacement for their old one. We loaned them one of our vehicles in February which they used for 10 months.
A delighted Xanne Carey, Head of Impact at Emmaus Bristol said: “Emmaus Bristol benefitted immensely from the generosity of Emmaus North Staffs who lent us one of their vans while we waited for the delivery of our new one.
“We would not have been able to continue collecting donated goods or running our house clearance service without their kind support. It is brilliant being part of a network of 30 Emmaus communities in the UK that all help each other when in need.”
Our Chief Executive John Webbe said: “We were delighted to be able to assist Emmaus Bristol with the loan of our vehicle and we’re so glad they were able to make good use of it.
“The van has been returned in good time for us as we launched our House Clearance Service this month, so we need our full fleet of vehicles to fulfil clients’ orders for house clearances, as well as carrying out our usual day-to-day operations.”
Through our clearance service we can take any reusable items from the home including furniture, kitchen items and crockery, ornaments, clothes, books and music.
We offer two clearance services, as outlined below:
The Cherry Pick Clearance Service
This is a FREE 60-MINUTE service to remove all the reusable items we can. We will select and take away those good quality items for reuse and resale to support our charity.
The Full Property Clearance Service
This service is for us to remove all the non-fixed items in the house, garage, shed, loft and cellar for us to reuse, resell, or recycle. This is a chargeable service based on the size of the job and the volume of items we determine cannot be reused which require disposal.
