Emmaus North East offers house clearance services ranging from a selective removal to a full house clearance.

Our full house clearance service results in a completely empty property. The team takes care of packing and removing everything – both unwanted items and those we can resell in our charity shops. We also offer a free collection of up to 5 items of our choice and can discuss further areas individually. Our house clearance service covers South Shields, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Durham, Northumberland and South Tyneside.

When you are faced with the prospect of sorting and clearing items gathered over many years, it can seem like a daunting task. Emmaus North East’s house clearance service has been developed to support customer’s requirements, from those managing a bereavement to those downsizing.

Our experienced and friendly crew will pack up and load the agreed items into our van and bring them back to our community. The items will be carefully sorted to ensure that reusable goods find a new home via one of our charity shops, giving someone else the chance to enjoy them.

Making a difference

The income we generate, through both the house clearance service and the sale of collected items, helps to provide accommodation, food, support, training and work experience for individuals who have experienced homelessness.

All our social enterprises, including the house clearance service, are operated by and for our companions and this work experience is cited by companions as one of the most important parts of belonging to an Emmaus community.

This means that when you choose to book a service or make a purchase with Emmaus North East, you know your payment is going to help people to support themselves out of homelessness.
