We’re excited to announce plans to open a new shop in Letchworth Garden City next month!
The large second-hand store in Garden Square Shopping Centre will stock a range of affordable, pre-loved furniture, homewares, electricals, clothing and accessories, as well as upcycled, restored and handmade items direct from the Emmaus workshop.
It will be the fifth charity shop in our retail portfolio and will help fund our vital work helping formerly homeless people, known to us as companions, with a home, individual support and meaningful work opportunities, for as long as they need them.
Our companions increase their skills and confidence through work experience and training in our charity shops, workshop and house clearance business.
Our Business Development Manager, Gemma Beckett said: “We’re so excited to be expanding our charity shop offering into North Hertfordshire with this shop in Letchworth. For some time, we’ve been looking for a great new location to grow into. We know that the second-hand market is becoming increasingly popular with consumers – its not just more sustainable and better for our planet, it’s more affordable and every penny you spend does some good.
“We’re delighted to join the Letchworth community and serve residents with an eclectic mix of affordable fashion, household essentials and one-off statement pieces, lovingly upcycled and restored by our companions. We can’t wait to begin trading, and can see exciting things happening in this store’s future.”
The shop located in Unit 2, Market Hall, Garden Square Shopping Centre, is expected to open next month, with a launch date expected soon.
It is a large two-storey premises and we will begin trading on the ground floor, with plans to expand over time. It will be open from Tuesday through to Saturday from 9.30am-5pm.
