We’re delighted to be one of the first charities to benefit from a tool donation scheme being run by leading UK tool provider Hilti.
Thanks to an introduction made by CRASH, the construction industry’s charity, Hilti have pledged to support us through its Tools Donation Programme, a new scheme they are piloting with us, to donate refurbished tools to support our work.
The donated tools will be used by companions, staff and volunteers for maintenance work around the community, as well as in our social enterprise. Our shop teams will be able to make quick work of assembling and dismantling furniture, and our van crews will have all the right tools to complete collections and clearance work. The tools will also be used in our community workshop where we upcycle and refurbish donated items, as well create new, bespoke pieces.

This new partnership is yet another way that CRASH have supported us in our work to support people experiencing homelessness.
“The tools will not only make life easier for our delivery and collections teams, by allowing them to quickly disassemble items of bulky furniture if needed, but will also boost our workshop toolbox, ensuring our companions have a range of tools at their disposal to help their vital work in upcycling and creating pieces of furniture.”
Matt, a companion at Emmaus Hertfordshire, with a background in construction, said: “I can’t believe Hilti have donated these for us – they’re the Rolls Royce of tools!”
