This Winter we’re thrilled the announce that our annual Christmas campaign, Operation Christmas is returning to help spread Christmas cheer across Colchester.

Operation Christmas, which our charity has been running for a decade, appeals to the local community for donations of gifts and presents for children and families who are struggling financially this Christmas time. The appeal is supported by Reed Colchester and Actual Radio.

Solidarity is an important part of our ethos, meaning we will help those who need it first. With the cost of living crisis continuing this Winter we are partnering with C3 Church to distribute presents to members of their congregation and to vulnerable families in Colchester who they support through outreach programmes.

Our Business Manager, Darren says “At Emmaus, we believe that we should all take time to support people in the community and we know that everyone can make a difference to people’s lives, however small. We’ve had such brilliant support in previous years, in the past we’ve been able to gift over 300 presents to children and families. This year, while the cost-of-living crisis still affects us all, it will mean even more to local families to ensure that everyone has something to open on the big day.”

We’re asking for donations of unused and unopened gifts for children aged 0 – 16. The gifts can include:

  • Toys
  • Stationery items
  • Books
  • Luxury toiletries
  • Sweets
  • Gift vouchers

Items should be donated unwrapped to Emmaus Colchester’s Warehouse or Works Shop on 4a Arthur Street, CO2 7DT, Monday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm.

The deadline for donations towards our appeal is on Wednesday 6th December. For any further information please contact Darren on [email protected] or 01206 541616.

By subscribing you will receive regular updates and news from Emmaus Colchester. We will never sell or distribute your information to a third party.
