When you donate to Emmaus Colchester, you have a direct impact on the lives of people working hard to rebuild their lives following homelessness.

What items can I donate?

What items can I donate?

As a charity which sells preloved items, we rely on the generous donations of members of the public.

We welcome donations of good quality furniture, clothes, toys, media, bicycles, books, and bric-a-brac. We also accept working electrical appliances such as washing machines or fridge freezers, alongside smaller electrical items such as flat-screen TVs and lamps.

We are happy to accept most household items in saleable condition, but if you’re not sure, feel free to give us a call.

What items cannot be donated

What items cannot be donated

We are extremely grateful to for all the donations we receive, however, due to high waste disposal costs and trading standards, there are some items we are unable to accept.

This includes soft furnishings without a valid fire label, safety items, baby equipment, used duvet and pillows, flat-packed furniture unless boxed, flammable or gas appliances, or any item that is not in a saleable condition.
