We’re excited to announce that we’re taking part in Colchester’s first-ever Soapbox Rally on Sunday 17th September!
Our team has been busy, designing and building an amazing soapbox that Michael, a brave companion, will be racing it down the high street. We’ll be competing against other local businesses and charities to have the fastest lap time and most importantly to stay in one piece!
Our soapbox is inspired by our Emmaus vans which are seen all over the city centre, delivering amazing pre-loved purchases and collecting generous donations. We’re passionate about sustainability, and we recycle, re-use and resell as much as we can from donations but sometimes we’re left with scrap items – we’ve put these items to good use and created our soapbox from them! We can’t wait to share our re-loved van with the city!
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and is free to watch. Our fabulous pit crew made up of Darren, our business manager, Brian our CEO and companions Chris and Dan will be supporting Michael from the starting line and encouraging me all the way down the track.
The finish line ends just outside our Home Shop so be sure to pop in and say hello if you’re watching the race. Watch the action from the side-lines on the high street or from the big screens in Castle Park, Culver Square, and Lion Walk.
