This week we welcomed our youngest supporter, Percy, just aged 6, into our community to celebrate his amazing fundraising activity!
Over the past few months, Percy has been baking sweet treats to sell to his friends and family to raise money for our community and companions.
Percy was inspired to start fundraising after he saw someone experiencing homelessness on his way back from London with his mum, Gina. That moment stuck with Percy and he spoke with his mum about how he could help other people who didn’t have a home and were experiencing homelssness. Percy & Gina both enjoy baking so together, they decided Percy would start a bake sale to raise money for Emmaus Colchester. In total, Percy raised an amazing £153 which he presented to companions and staff when he visited our community house.
We’re all so touched by and grateful for Percy’s amazing work. It was wonderful to show Percy around our community house and introduce him to the companions who he has been fundraising for.
Our community chef, Elaine baked Percy his very own cake to enjoy and Percy enjoyed a tour of the community, including being taught pool by companions!
A huge thank you to Percy & Gina for your wonderful support.
