Room for a Room: Be part of a lasting legacy
When you donate to our Room for a Room project you will be part of a lasting legacy. Each room in our B&B will directly support companions living in our community to make positive changes towards their future.
The B&B project was estimated to cost £2.7 million and we have been fundraising intensely to reach this target. With the money already raised we have:
- Renovated the Sister’s refectory into a dining space for the public and B&B guests
- Improved our kitchen and pot wash facilities for both commercial catering and fire safety
- Replaced all guttering, hoppers and downpipes
- Repaired and redecorated bargeboards and eave vents
- Replaced windows in B&B rooms
- Repointed, repaired and capped chimneys
- Installed a new soakaway
- Replaced slipped or damaged roof tiles
- A future area of our B&B featured on BBC’s Interior Design Masters
We are now appealing for the last £360,000 needed to complete the refurbishment of the 23 nun’s cells.
Make a Difference
This year to complete the last phase of our refurbishments and get our B&B open, a team of our companions undertook a 450 mile pilgrimage across the width of the country.
The Walk of Kindness raised £50,000 to help this new social enterprise to progress and make impactful change for companions.
The Room for a Room Impact
We are continually growing our community to benefit our companions and provide them with more opportunities to develop and learn new skills. The B&B will offer valuable, tangible work experience and training for our companions, supporting them to re-build their self-esteem and self-worth after experiencing homelessness.
We have made amazing progress on our B&B and hope to open in Spring 2025. To help us get to the final stages a team of companions from our community are undertaking a fundraising pilgrimage, support them here.

- One B&B bedroom to be completely restored to first fix standard
- An opportunity to design a bedroom with a professional Interior Designer
- Would pay for décor, furnishings and fixtures for the bedroom
- To be part of a lasting legacy and have your name in a hand-crafted ‘Book of Stories’
