Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney supports people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and social exclusion. At Emmaus we help end homelessness one person at a time.

Our community offers companions:

  • A stable home and a base to progress
  • A chance to gain skills and work experience
  • A sense of belonging and community

With your help, we can support each companion to feel empowered and start to rebuild their lives. We are currently fundraising for three key project which will support better work opportunities, enhance our bespoke support and help build confidence futures.

There’s loads of ways to fundraise for us from challenge events or sponsored walks, to birthday fundraisers or bake sales – the only limit is your imagination. If you have a fundraising idea in mind, get in touch and we’ll help you set up your online fundraising page and help you promote it.

Bed & Breakfast
Building Better Futures

Bed & Breakfast

We’re transforming the upstairs of the former convent into a 23-bedroom B&B to create diverse training and work opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness and trauma, while restoring this historic site.

Your Fundraising will enable us to restore an important part of Norfolk history and once open, provide important work and skills opportunities for companions.

One room in the B&B will create the income needed to support an individual out of homelessness and into our community.

Women's Project
Bespoke Support

Women's Project

Our new Women’s Community is a year-long programme with in-built therapeutic courses and creative practices, to allow women who have experienced homelessness, trauma and abuse to thrive and take action towards fulfilling lives.

The transformational support women receive in the project includes courses in awareness and recovery from sexual violence and domestic abuse.

Supporting our women’s project will allow us to support more individuals into our community and support them to progress and grow. This work is crucial. Women have told us that after years in supported housing, rehab, and therapy, the holistic support of this project is making a profound difference in their lives.

Men's House
Building Confident Futures

Men's House

Our next major project is to open a dedicated Men’s House on site, a space designed to address the specific challenges our male companions face on their journey towards independent living and employment.

The house will offer an intensive six-month support programme, tailored to empower men and explore topics such as masculinity, relationships, mental health and physical wellbeing.

By supporting the Men’s House you’ll help men to gain emotional resilience, gain life skills and take steps towards a brighter future.
