Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney has kindly been offered ongoing support from Norwich-based charity Food and Beverage Buggies (FABB) throughout the coronavirus crisis following an appeal on social media.

The social media appeal, which asked for surplus food to be donated to Emmaus, has been met with a large amount of support. FABB, which is a group dedicated to taking a hot two course meal and drinks out to the homeless in Norwich, pledged ongoing support to Emmaus and has dropped off two donations of potatoes, bread, carrots, oranges, and some tinned goods, with more to follow when available.

The Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney site is currently closed to the public following government advice, however, the support it provides to the people living in the Ditchingham community continues.

Cecile Roberts, Chief Executive, said:

“While we are of course concerned with the financial impact of closing our shops, our number one priority has always been the people we support, and our volunteers, staff and the local community.  It has been increasingly difficult to find everything we need in local supermarkets, especially for the amount of people we are supporting. We are so grateful to Marie Charles, a FABB volunteer who has been taking time out of her day to drop the donations off.”

FABB are currently supporting a number of charities and organisations as well as Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney, including Hinde House, which is a Supported Housing Scheme, as well as a local Norwich food bank.
