Emmaus groups in India have been severely impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, but continue to help the most vulnerable people by distributing health kits, protective equipment and food items.
Their work is vital, especially at a time when cemeteries are running out of space, hospitals are turning away patients, the costs of medical supplies have skyrocketed and are now no longer affordable for the majority of the population and the market prices of basic food items have more than doubled due to shortages of supplies and high demand. Most public and private hospitals have already exhausted their oxygen supplies and the health services and other essential services are on the brink of collapse.
We want to help.
On Saturday 26 June, we will be holding a Solidarity Sale. All of our takings on this day will be donated to Emmaus groups in India to help their Covid-19 response.
If you would like to help us help our sister communities in India at a time when they need it most, please pop by our Bridgend shops and make a purchase on Saturday 26 June.
