Affordable and tasty meal kits are coming to dining tables across Salford thanks to a new partnership between The Good Food Bag and local charity Emmaus Salford.

The Good Food Bag offers good quality meal kits with easy to follow recipes at community locations across Greater Manchester. The latest collection point to offer the meal kits is Lucie’s Pantry social supermarket based at Emmaus Salford.

The kits include all the ingredients and a recipe card to prepare a tasty meal for four people. Each meal kit costs only £7 and can be ordered over the phone, online or via The Good Food Bag social media channels.

Jenni Pocsai, Operations Manager at The Good Food Bag, said: “We are really excited to be working with Emmaus Salford as their reputation for supporting people is brilliant. We are so proud to be another way that Emmaus is here to help support the people of Salford.”

Cook something new

The Good Food Bag is a not-for-profit enterprise supported by housing organisations covering Greater Manchester. The Good Food Bag meal kits are available to any household and aim to provide a healthy and tasty answer to the daily question; ‘what’s for tea?’

Emmaus Salford is a charity that supports formerly homeless people by providing a stable home, meaningful work and support for as long as they need it. In addition to our residential community and charity shops, we also run Lucie’s Pantry social supermarket for people to access food and household essentials.

Rachel Richardson, Community Director at Emmaus Salford, said: “We’re really pleased to be partnering with The Good Food Bag and extending the range of services we offer from Lucie’s Pantry.

“Meal kits have become really popular during the past year as people look to add variety to their weekly menu. By becoming a collection point for The Good Food Bag, we hope to help Salford residents vary their diets and have fun whilst cooking something new.”

The Good Food Bag releases different menus each week with a range of tasty meals. For the week commencing 1 February, meals include Cowboy Pie, Chicken Noodle Bowl, Spaghetti Bolognese and Mac & Cheese.

To place an order or request a weekly menu, call, text or send a WhatsApp message to 07780 843 821. Once ordered, meal kits can be collected every Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, 10am-3pm, from Lucie’s Pantry, Emmaus House, 101 Fitzwarren Street, Salford, M6 5RQ.
