Over 120 people gathered at The Orchard – Emmaus Hull and East Riding – to learn more about the key issues around homelessness locally.
Several speakers shared information about the scale of homelessness, the trends being encountered, the work being delivered now, pilot projects such as Housing First just starting in the East Riding, and future changes to the law affecting how statutory support will be delivered.
A wide range of organisations provided stalls of information too, outlining services available to those experiencing homelessness, and opportunities for accommodation.

Speakers included:

  • Andrew Young – Emmaus Hull & East Riding Chair.
  • Paul Abbott – Humber Anti Slavery.
  • Dave Richmond – Hull City Council Neighbourhoods Manager.
  • Tony Margetts – East Riding Council Public Health.
  • Robbie – HomelessLink.
  • Phil Mamoaney – MIND Housing First.
  • Mark Bottomley – Home Office Immigration.
  • Paul Matson – Hull 4 Heroes.

You can hear their speeches and see all the pictures on the Humber Help website.
