The Emmaus Hull & East Riding homeless outreach service offers direct support to people who are street homeless.

Trained support workers, including some of our formerly homeless companions, meet people who are street homeless to offer friendly advice, items, signposting and access to further support. They do this by meeting individuals with a caring and positive attitude so that trust is established and the best result is achieved. Working alongside a wide range of partners, our commissioned outreach services have achieved many successful outcomes.

Central to the Emmaus Hull & East Riding homeless outreach service is a team that includes people with lived experience of homelessness. We have trained formerly homeless people to become active outreach workers, supporting those most vulnerable on the streets and in rural hot spots across the East Riding. Having that lived experience and empathy for people faced with street homelessness drives their passion and determination to help those most in need.

In addition to the homeless outreach service, Emmaus Hull & East Riding has a residential community to provide a home and fresh start to people experiencing homelessness.

Hull homeless outreach service

Emmaus no longer delivers a rough sleeper outreach service in Hull. Services to support people sleeping rough in Hull are coordinated by Hull City Council and CGL. If you are worried about an individual sleeping rough within the city, the best way of contacting the team is by emailing [email protected].

We are committed to supporting all those affected by homelessness and will continue to support the many wonderful organisations and groups that deliver services to rough sleepers in our city and wider region. Solidarity and supporting those most in need is a fundamental value of Emmaus and a value that underpins our entire organisation.

Thank you to all our partners and members of the public who have supported and continue to support our rough sleeper outreach services.
