Stephanie Cooper has started her new role as Director of Emmaus Hull & East Riding to oversee the running of our charity.

Emmaus Hull & East Riding provides a home, training, work opportunities and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness. Stephanie will oversee operations at our community home and charity shops, establishing new partnerships and further developing the charity.

Stephanie commented: “I am truly honored to join Emmaus Hull & East Riding as its new Director. Homelessness is a complex issue, and I am dedicated to working alongside the fantastic team here to find innovative solutions that will make a lasting difference in the community. I am eager to collaborate with community partners, volunteers, and supporters to amplify the impact of Emmaus’s work.”

Stephanie brings to Emmaus a wealth of experience from more than 15 years working in the charity and private sectors. Stephanie has previously worked as a Regional Manager at Age UK and Sainsburys.

Chris O’Donnell, Chair of Emmaus Hull & East Riding, said: “We are delighted to welcome Stephanie to lead our charity in the region, helping more people to rebuild their lives after being homeless.”

People who are supported by Emmaus, known as companions, are offered the opportunity to gain skills, training, confidence, and new experiences. More than two-thirds of companions supported by Emmaus Hull & East Riding move on into jobs, their own housing or return to families.

All Emmaus companions help in our social enterprise at one of three charity stores in Hull. All of the money generated from the Emmaus social enterprise is re-invested to support disadvantaged people in Hull and across the East Riding. In addition to our residential community, we also deliver an outreach service, providing direct support to people who are street homeless.
