My name is Dave, I moved into Emmaus August 2017 not with the intentions of being a companion, but as a solidarity bed.
I have had many years rough sleeping and issues with alcohol for many years and drugs.
When I came to Emmaus I chose to become a companion, I did not know if I would be any good at that point.
But as time has gone on I have learnt some new skills, regained some life skills.
I am building on relationships with my family/daughters grandchildren.
I am nearly at my first year with Emmaus, I’ve had my ups and downs but all in all I am enjoying what I am building at present.
And I am looking forward to the future and hopefully one day looking at having my independence back and moving into my own property with the help and support from Emmaus.
