Are you looking for a motivational speaker? Someone who can talk about homelessness and how Emmaus Preston helps people move on to more fulfilled lives?
We have a long history of speaking to businesses, community groups, schools, colleges, universities and other organisations. Some of our previous audiences have included people from UK’s largest gas distribution network Cadent, the University of Central Lancashire, Preston College and Preston and South Ribble Landlords Conference. Talks are available online as well as in person.
“We thank you from our hearts. It was a real joy and privilege to hear Karen’s story. Many said later that Karen was the best and kindest speaker we have ever had, and all asked to pass on our love and admiration.”

Emmaus Preston is a homelessness charity with a difference. Emmaus provides a home, work opportunities and personal support for people with experience of homelessness. What’s different is how we all participate in the smooth running of the charity together. So, you’ll often meet people supported by Emmaus helping run the charity shops, making collections or deliveries as part of our van crew or helping in our community home.
All our speakers are happy to share their experiences and talk about being part of the Emmaus Preston community and social enterprise. Karen is one of the speakers at Emmaus who is now Deputy Chief Executive after working her way up from the role of companion development worker. She first came to Emmaus Preston in 2012 after experiencing street homelessness over the course of 15 years.
Karen said: “I appreciate the opportunity to speak about my experiences. The reason I want to provide talks is to tell more people about Emmaus Preston and all the work we do to help people move on from homelessness.”
