Director of Emmaus Preston Stephen Buchanan raised awareness of the charity’s support for people with experience of homelessness among local landlords at a conference organised by the charity’s corporate partners, Roberts & Co.

Sales and letting agency, Roberts & Co, invited Emmaus Preston to speak at Preston & South Ribble Landlord Conference 2022 as the company’s chosen Charity of the Year. The presentation strengthened links with landlords, for accepting people from Emmaus Preston when people are ready to move on.

The estate agency teamed up with Emmaus Preston at the start of 2022, when it made the generous pledge to donate a portion of every house sold and staff have so far raised £1390 this year. The money raised will help Emmaus Preston provide a home, support and meaningful work and training for people who have experienced homelessness.

Managing Director Emma Roberts said: “Roberts & Co asked Stephen Buchanan to speak at the landlord conference to promote the charity.  We wanted to use the opportunity to highlight the new goods that the Emmaus store sells including white goods, which is incredibly useful for landlords when replacing washing machines and other items.

“We also wanted him to talk about the excellent work that the Emmaus team does for people with experience of homelessness in Preston and South Ribble and the way that the charity provides not just a home for the companions, but a purpose too.”

The conference was held at Leyland Golf Club on 12th October and included a variety of guest speakers covering a number of topics.
