All the proceeds raised from your donated items go directly to support people with experience of homelessness at the Emmaus Preston community.

Emmaus Preston relies on your continued support and kind donations to our charity shops to keep us going and always do our utmost to sell, recycle or otherwise get an income from everything you give us.

What items we can accept?

What items we can accept?

We are happy to accept most household items but there are some exceptions for either legal or practical reasons. This includes soft furnishings without a fire label, safety items, baby equipment, refrigeration, large wall units or any item that is not in a saleable condition.

Sometimes we get too many of one item or have nobody to complete repairs and it costs us money to take items to landfill so please be understanding if we have to sometimes say no. For an up-to-date list of items we can and cannot accept please click below.

Emmaus Preston’s charity shops collect large furniture items, homeware and electricals for free. We offer free furniture collections from postcodes PR1 to PR7, PR25 and PR26.
