Emmaus Oxford is a small, local charity. Every year it costs us £850,987 to run our services. We no longer receive any funding from our local authority. We try to raise as much income as we can through our social enterprise, but we still rely on support from our local community to help homeless people.

You can read our most recent Annual Report to find out more about our work and who supports us.

There are lots of ways you can get involved, here are some ideas to get you started. If you’d like to find out more, please contact Hannah by email or on 01865 402 073. Whatever money you raise or donate will help homeless people in Oxford right now.

Raise money for us

We are always looking for supporters to take part in or run events to raise money. Could you…

  • organise a concert or lecture
  • take part in a run or challenge event
  • do a skydive
  • run a bake sale
  • arrange a collection at your church
  • have a fancy dress or dress down day in your office
  • get sponsored to give something up
  • run a coffee morning.

We can help you to set up an online fundraising page on Just Giving and send you materials to help your fundraising.

Not sure you could do it?

Read more about our supporter Hannah who raised more than £1000 for us by running marathons through lockdown in spring 2020.

Ask your company to donate

No matter what size your company is, their support could make a massive impact. You could raise money with your colleagues and ask your company to offer match funding, arrange a donation drive or sponsor something we need.

In 2019 one of our corporate partners, Royds Withy King’s Oxford branch have helped us to replace one of our vans. You can read more about the massive difference this makes here. We’re also really pleased to partner with Penningtons Manches Cooper in Oxford since 2020.

We celebrate our corporate supporters in our annual report and and we’re delighted to thank them on our social media channels and celebrate our partnership.

Make a regular donation

Making a regular donation of any size really helps us to plan and maintain our services. We appreciate donations of any size, and if you can give £10 a month or more we’ll invite you to become a Friend of Emmaus Oxford.

You can read more about how and why our supporter Terry chooses to give to our work here.

Leave a gift in your will

If Emmaus Oxford means a lot to you, please consider leaving us a gift in your will.

Once you have taken care of your loved ones, leaving Emmaus Oxford a small percentage of your estate could have a massive impact on homeless people’s futures. To find out more about leaving a legacy donation and get our example codicil, please contact Hannah on 01865 402 073 or by email.

Make a gift in someone’s memory

If you have lost someone who was interested in our work, you could consider making a donation in their memory. Many people make a charity donation instead of taking a collection for flowers.

If you are making a donation in someone’s memory, please let us know so we can pay our respects as well as saying thank you.

Support us through a charitable trust or foundation or become a major donor

If you’re a trustee, could you nominate Emmaus Oxford for support? We get more than half of our charitable income from trusts and foundations. Our companions have achieved some amazing things thanks to support from our major donors in the past and we are always keen to invite new support for our work.

We are happy to invite trustees and major donors to see our work in action and provide full reporting on the difference you make.
