If you are looking to donate your unwanted items to a local charity then Emmaus Oxford is happy to accept most household items and bric-a-brac. The items are then sold in the Emmaus charity store on Barns Road in Oxford to raise funds to help us continue to change the lives of formerly homeless people in your area. If possible, we ask that you drop-off your donated items at our store.
If an item is too large to fit in your car, we offer a free collection from your home or business. You can book your collection online or give us a call on 01865 763698 to tell us about it and we’ll book in a time to collect. We are happy to accept most household items but there are some exceptions for either legal or practical reasons. This includes soft furnishings without a fire label, safety items, or any item that is not in a saleable condition.
If you are donating a large number of items we may need to make a charge, please see our house clearances page for more details.
Gift Aid increases the value of your donations and means charities can benefit even more at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK taxpayer, kindly agree to Gift Aid whenever you make a donation either over the phone or when we come to collect. Emmaus Oxford will take care of the rest and reclaim the basic rate of tax on the resale price of your donation – that’s a whopping 25p for every £1 we make on the sale of your donated item. We are happy to provide further details on request and will also go through the detail with you at the point that you offer a donation.
