Oxford-based professional will writers, A.D.E Wills, has selected Emmaus Oxford as its charity of the month.
Our charity provides a home, work and personal support to people who have experienced homelessness.
The partnership aims to raise awareness of the work we do and highlight the lasting impact people can have when they choose to leave furniture in their will to our Cowley store.
More than half of our income is generated from the sale of donated items, including furniture, in our Barns Road store. This income is used to provide accommodation, food, and support to help people rebuild their lives after being homeless.
A.D.E Wills is also offering customers the option to donate 10% of their payment for a will to Emmaus Oxford.
Edward Richings, Owner of A.D.E Wills, said: “We have teamed up with Emmaus Oxford to help them as they reopen their shop doors after a 15-week closure. We value the great work of Emmaus in helping to empower people during some of the most difficult periods of their life, so they can rebuild themselves and their home.
“Emmaus operates so well because so many generous people donate old or unwanted furniture and goods. Throughout May, we will be encouraging people to think about leaving a furniture legacy to Emmaus, so they can help to house future generations.”
As well as providing vital funds for the charity, the Emmaus Oxford store offers work experience, training, and a sense of purpose for the people it supports and is key in helping people regain their confidence and self-esteem.
