Are you an artist, painter or creative person who would like to share your passion with others? Here at Emmaus Merseyside, we are looking for a volunteer Creative Facilitator to help run weekly creative sessions with our companions. We are keen to harness the power of art and creativity within our community, providing fresh opportunities to help our companions with their well-being and personal development.

 

Main duties

  • Research and plan creative sessions at our community
  • Deliver the sessions to small groups of between 2 and 5 people
  • Work with participants to tailor sessions to their skills and interests
  • Liaise with Emmaus staff to source the materials needed for each session.

Skills required

We’re looking for a dedicated creative individual with…

  • An interest in art, painting, drawing, crafts and creative arts
  • Experience of leading or facilitating creative sessions is desirable
  • A highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive, can-do attitude
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Respect for Emmaus values and policies
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people.

Time commitment

We would like the sessions to take place at our community home in Seaforth, for an hour or two on Wednesday afternoons. With additional time to prepare for each session, we envisage that this role will involve a commitment of between 3 and 4 hours per week.

Training, support and benefits

  • As an Emmaus volunteer, you will be given a full induction when you start.
  • A staff member will support you throughout your time as a volunteer.
  • We will offer you an opportunity to develop your skills and experience for a worthwhile cause.
  • We will look to provide further training where possible.
  • We will provide you with dinner and travel expenses on the days that you volunteer.
