Emmaus Merseyside has taken delivery of a new electric-powered ride-on mower and strimmers to help maintain green spaces in Seaforth.
Emmaus Merseyside is an award-winning charity that provides a home, training, work opportunities and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness. Thanks to funding from The Clothworkers’ Foundation, we have been able to invest in the new electric mower and strimmers to help maintain land surrounding our residential community.
The new gardening equipment will be used to maintain the Seaforth Green public space next to Emmaus Merseyside’s community home. Our 28-bedroom residential community also has on-site gardens and food-growing areas, maintained by our companions and local volunteers.
Marc Bamber, Chief Operating Officer of Emmaus Merseyside, said: “Our new electric ride-on mower and strimmers is the latest step towards our cleaner, greener vision for Emmaus Merseyside.
“Following on from our new solar panels earlier in the year, our new gardening equipment has replaced diesel-powered tools and helps us to further reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We would like to give sincere thanks to The Clothworkers’ Foundation for their grant and generous support in helping our charity become more sustainable and reduce emissions.”
The Clothworkers’ Foundation improves the lives of people and communities, particularly those facing disadvantage and marginalisation, through grant-making. The Foundation was set up in 1977 to be the primary vehicle of charitable giving for The Clothworkers’ Company.
