Five year old Martha has raised an incredible £800 for Emmaus through a sponsored hopscotch.

After watching Race Across the World and seeing a family sleeping rough in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Martha told her mum that she wanted to do something to help those experiencing homelessness. After looking at a few different charities, Martha chose to fundraise for Emmaus.

With a little help from her mum Clare, Martha decided on a sponsored hopscotch. Family and friends could pay 10p per hopscotch and she had a target of £10, which seemed like a big sum for Martha.

The donations came flooding in and she absolutely smashed her first target. She has received £300 in donations through her Facebook fundraiser to date.  DS Smith in Sittingbourne heard about Martha’s fundraiser and kindly added £500 to Martha’s total. Making a grand total of £800 and a beautiful homemade cheque that Martha made to showcase her hard work.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Martha, for all her hard work hopscotching and fundraising.
