We’d like to say a big thank you to the lovely team at Ragdale Hall Spa, who have donated £500 to our homelessness charity.

This wonderful gesture is part of Ragdale Hall’s Community Chest initiative.

Our charity’s Director Dawn Wright, recently had the pleasure of receiving this donation from Hugh Wilson, the Managing Director of Ragdale Hall Spa.

The Community Chest programme, formerly known as Make It Happen, has been running for 15 years, in partnership with the Melton Times. Ragdale Hall has so far awarded an impressive £150,000 to charities, community groups and sports clubs.

Based in Hinckley, our charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland provides accommodation, support, and meaningful work opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness.

We’re incredibly grateful for Ragdale Hall Spa’s generous contribution. This funding will enable us to provide crucial counselling sessions for the individuals we support. People who have experienced homelessness are more likely to have mental health problems and access to counselling is often vital for renewing self-confidence and rebuilding lives. These sessions play a vital role in renewing self-confidence and empowering people to take positive steps forward.

Hugh Wilson from Ragdale Hall Spa said: “Being able to support organisations like Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland through our Ragdale Hall Community Chest initiative is the very reason we were so passionate to relaunch this scheme, post-pandemic.

“Offering a safe place to those who are vulnerable and experiencing hardships due to homelessness is invaluable, especially during these times. As a spa we know how important it is to prioritise wellness in the body and mind, so being able to fund counselling sessions is a wonderful outcome.

“Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is making a positive difference to our community and it’s a pleasure to be able to support its good works.”
