Not just a homeless shelter: longer-term accommodation, support and work opportunities. At Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland, people who’ve been homeless and people at risk of homelessness, find a place where they can enjoy companionship and support.
We currently have space to accommodate up to 16 people at our accommodation in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Everyone has their own bedroom, and we have several shared living spaces and a large garden area. We provide meals, clothing and toiletries.
The people we support, known as companions, actively participate in daily activities. They can gain new skills and boost self-confidence in a welcoming environment. Our companions help to run our charity shop, assist with furniture collections, and contribute to household tasks. All these activities help us continue by raising vital funds.
Our dedicated support team works with each person according to their individual needs. There are plenty of training opportunities and there’s no time limit. Some people stay for a short while and others need a bit longer until they are ready to get back on their feet. We support people to move on when they feel ready to do so, helping them find accommodation and work. Read first-hand accounts from the people we’ve helped.
