Our van is the lifeblood of our Hinckley-based homelessness charity, but after more than 10 years it’s spending more time in the garage than on the road. Every donation helps us support people to move on and rebuild their lives.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland (one of 29 Communities within the Emmaus federation) has been helping people who have been homeless, or at risk of homelessness since 2012. We currently have accommodation for 16 people, we call these people our companions. Our charity shops provide a commercial setting where our companions learn new skills.
We have come a long way in the last ten years and we have big ambitions to grow our ability to help more people who are homeless. We want to grow and diversify our social enterprise offerings, increase our profile, and be a key player in the region, as well as being a voice that helps shape policy for those experiencing social exclusion.
We are now looking for a forward thinking Director to work with our companions, staff, volunteers and trustees to lead this next stage of our development.
This is a wonderful role to take Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland to the next level. We want to attract leaders who are brave, curious and bold, are solution focused and forward thinking and genuinely excited by the prospect of realising our further potential.
