We are thrilled to share fantastic news about the overwhelming success of our Christmas department last year.
We set up the department within our Emporium charity shop on Stockwell Head, Hinckley, in November 2023. Little did we anticipate the success it would become, when we officially launched it during our special Christmas shopping event (complete with all-important free mince pies!).
Fast-forward to the start of 2024 and we’ve finished the number-crunching. We’re so thrilled to announce that it raised over £3,500 – all thanks to the tremendous support of our amazing shoppers. Our Christmas department became the go-to destination in Hinckley, for all things festive – from budget-friendly Christmas clothing to preloved trees, decorations and gifts.
What truly warmed our hearts was the outpouring of generosity from our local community throughout December. We welcomed a continuous stream of people bringing in their unwanted festive items, which meant that as fast as things were selling, we could restock every day.
A special shout-out goes to those who contributed to the success of our Christmas tree sales – we sold so many second-hand trees this year. Whether you donated your old tree or treated yourself to a new one, you helped not only raise funds, but saved so many trees from going to landfill. Reuse is so important.
In light of this success, we’re thrilled to announce that our Christmas department will now become an annual tradition here at the Emporium. We’ve carefully packed up our remaining stock and will be all ready to go, when November 2024 comes around.
Thanks again – as with every purchase at our Emporium shop, all monies raised help Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland support those who have faced homelessness to turn their lives around.
