This weekend, we watched with glee as more daring volunteers raised thousands of pounds for us by braving a skydive.

Over the weekend of 25 November, four colleagues from gas distribution firm Cadent, jumped out of a plane at Langar Airfield. The team completed tandem skydives and collectively raised £4,603 for our homelessness charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.

Thanks so much to them all!

This total is set to rise as more skydives take place over the next few weeks, with 19 Cadent skydivers rising to the challenge. The colleagues also plan to tap into Cadent’s Matched Giving programme, where Cadent match up to £400 of fundraising each year, for every one of its colleagues.

The skydiving is part of a two-year charity partnership between Cadent and Emmaus UK. Cadent has committed to supporting Emmaus charities across the UK in various ways, including fundraising and volunteering.

Frederick Bowlby, one of the Cadent team who took part in the skydive, said: “It’s been amazing to see so many Cadent colleagues quite literally jump at the chance to support Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.

“Our partnership with Emmaus goes well beyond just fundraising. We have been delighted to be able to support them with volunteer days, donation drives, resurfacing their car park, and even donating 13 55” TVs from our previous offices just around the corner, during our partnership with Emmaus UK!

“I’m not sure I’ll be jumping out a plane again just yet, but I can’t wait to see what our colleagues come up with next to help Emmaus create easier warmth and support those who have experienced homelessness.”

We’re thrilled and humbled by the team’s remarkable achievement, raising such a substantial amount of money! Watching them freefall through the air in November was a chilling experience, and we take our hats off to them all.

We are deeply appreciative of Cadent’s ongoing support and hope the team know that they are helping Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland continue to give people hope after facing homelessness.
