Why Volunteer For Us?
Emmaus Leeds is a charity with a difference; we are a community of up to 29 formerly homeless men and women (known as companions), staff members and volunteers working together to end homelessness. In exchange for volunteering in our social enterprise, companions are provided with accommodation, food and support as they rebuild their lives.
As a volunteer, you will become a key part of this community and contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation – not to mention free lunch and bus fares!
What Will You Be Doing?
You will be working alongside companions and members of the retail team, sorting donated clothes and displaying them for sale. This will involve:
- Sorting saleable clothing from rag items
- Preparing clothing items for display
- Filtering premium clothing items for our online sales team
- Creating eye-catching, seasonal displays on our shopfloor
We recognise that not all our volunteers will have all these skills, however full training will be provided where required.
