We’d like to take a moment to give a big shout-out to students and staff from the RAWKUS project at the University of Warwick, as well as North Point Church.

At the end of each term, the volunteers help clear out the University of Warwick on-campus accommodation after students head home.

The amazing RAWKUS collection volunteers, with support from the university’s Sustainability, Waste & Recycling and Accommodation Teams recently managed to save 178kg of food. With the help of our partners North Point Church, this was distributed to local food banks in Coventry.

Working together to support local food banks

A volunteer team from Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire regularly collects stock donated by wholesalers and other suppliers, and delivers this food and essential items to Coventry food banks/hubs on weekdays. At weekends, the lovely people from North Point Church help keep this important delivery service going.

Demand for food bank services is sadly greater than ever, so several times a week, we drive around with a van full of food, towels and toiletries – dropping off where people need it most.
