I am a retired hospital consultant and previous trustee of our local hospice with a particular interest in governance. I have been a trustee since 2017 and chair the social enterprise committee.
I have worked in three Emmaus communities and in an alcohol rehabilitation centre all in France. I was a professional social worker in two inner London boroughs and have also been on the staff of a residential community in London. I am on the board of three other local charities and a national grant-making trust.
I’ve been involved with Emmaus since 2001 in a variety of roles at local, national and international levels. I am currently Chief Executive of Emmaus UK, the national organisation.
I run a small architectural practice, which means I can contribute to the business affairs to do with running the organisation, and help with all property related matters.
I am a researcher in the area of Corporate Governance at Coventry University. I am a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). I also enjoy volunteering for other charities in Coventry and Warwickshire.
I have worked in various parts of the country during a legal career in the public service in which I served on multi agency groups in the fields of mental health and people trafficking which continue to be areas of particular interest to me.
I am a former Chief Executive working in social housing for almost 30 years, I have determination and am positive and enthusiastic and want to use my skills to help those wanting to get back on track in life.
