We’re proud that our formerly homeless companions are continuing to do their bit to help others, during the current crisis.

Each day they are making sure all the Coventry Food Banks are stocked up, by volunteering to drive vans full of food and supplies from local wholesalers to each Food Bank location.

This important work is part our what the Emmaus movement calls ‘solidarity’. ‘Solidarity’ is central to the Emmaus ethos. This is when our companions (and staff) ‘pay it forward’ by helping other people in need. The act of solidarity can be very powerful for Emmaus companions as it is often central to rebuilding lost self-esteem, proving that everyone has the capacity to make a difference to the lives of others.
