Main duties:

  • Work alongside companions driving our community vans delivering and collecting donations
  • Driving around Cambridgeshire
  • Using a tail-lift van
  • Lifting furniture
  • Being the face of Emmaus Cambridge outside of our community
  • Offering help when delivering or collecting items to make sure our customers have a great experience

Skills required:

  • A can-do personality to engage with customers and the ability to demonstrate true service skills
  • Eager to support and contribute to the wider team (companions, staff and volunteers)
  • Great communication skills
  • Work with energy, pace and passion
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills
  • The ability to encourage and empower companions
  • Knowledge of the local area is helpful but not essential. Don’t worry… we have sat navs!
  • Experience driving vans is helpful but not essential. We will do full training with you
  • A full clean UK driving licence
  • Must be aged 25 or over due to insurance purposes

Time commitment:

We are looking for a volunteer that will commit to at least 1 day per week. We can be flexible in terms of what day(s)/hours. Availability would need to be during opening times (Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm).
