Emmaus has given me so much help since I have been here, and I hope to be here for the foreseeable future. There’s so many positive bits to being part of a community and I would recommend it 100%.
When I came to Emmaus I had lost my way and didn’t recognise the man I once was. Emmaus has helped me to reignite my passion for life and has given me the opportunity to help others.
The Emmaus model really stood out to me when I began researching trustee roles. I like what it stands for – solidarity, community and people helping one another to better themselves.
One of the biggest highlights working at Emmaus Cambridge in Joan’s Coffee Shop is the companions.
"I am quite possibly the longest standing and oldest Emmaus companion in the UK. I am 73 and have lived in Emmaus communities for 23 years."
