Throughout their 150-year history Sainsbury’s has played an important role in communities. To mark their birthday, the retail giant has launched its 150 Days in the Community campaign, offering all staff one day to help a local charity or project close to their heart.
Richard Allwood, Community Director at Emmaus Glasgow, said:
Employees from Sainsbury’s stores across Glasgow have a combined total of 472 hours which they have chosen to spend helping Emmaus Glasgow and H4TH, another local homelessness charity. The volunteers will spend time sorting donations and stock, painting the warehouse, and helping to create and maintain a community allotment.
