We’re delighted to have received a gong in the national Shopiago Online Charity Awards.

We won the ‘Trade-in Shop of the Year Award’ for scanning 10,501 pre-loved books, CDs, DVDs and computer games through Shopiago.

The Shopiago Online Charity Awards reward the most successful and innovative charity shops around the UK that are raising funds by selling donated items online, via ecommerce sites like eBay.

The Trade-in Shop of the Year goes to the charity shop teams scanning the most items using Shopiago Trade-in.

Award winners were selected based on sales figures or via a judging panel of industry experts which included senior journalists and representatives from eBay, the Charity Retail Association, World of Books Group and the Charity Retail Consultancy.

All award winners receive a £250 donation to their charity, along with £250 in high street vouchers to treat their hard-working team of employees and volunteers. Runners-up, or highly commended charities receive a £100 voucher.

Nick Samuels, our Chief Executive Officer said: “This award is a brilliant recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Emmaus Village Carlton shop team – a huge thank you to them all for their hard work.

“To receive national recognition for the large volume of sales they process is testament to their drive, energy and enthusiasm. They inspire us all and help us to raise some serious money for the essential services we provide supporting vulnerable people out of homelessness and onto a brighter future.”

Shopiago transforms ecommerce operations for charities by making it easier to sell online on sites such as eBay. Donated items tend to sell for higher prices here than in-store, which enables charities to make more money from every donation, ultimately raising more vital funds.

Thom Bryan, Business Development Director at Shopiago, said: “Now more than ever, charities are reliant on the funds they raise via their charity shops. In this challenging backdrop, we’ve been so impressed by the clever thinking and hard work of charity shop teams around the country as they sell online, reaching a wider audience and making more money from the items their supporters generously donate.”
